UW This Season: Michael Ford returns as one of the premier wide receivers in the Mountain West Conference in 2007. He ranked No. 2 in the MWC in receptions in 2006, and ranked No. 39 in the nation. Ford was named an Honorable Mention All-MWC selection by conference head coaches and media members his junior season. He enters his senior season with 108 career receptions and 1,320 career receiving yards. Ford needs only 12 more receptions and 467 yards to break into the UW career Top 10 lists in those two categories. The Aurora, Colo., native started all 12 games for UW in `06, and he has started 18 of 35 career games entering his senior season. He has outstanding size for a receiver at 6'2" and over 200 pounds. Ford also provides a great deal of versatility to the Cowboy offense as he can play either an outside-receiver position or a slot-receiver spot.

2006: Ford led Wyoming in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns in `06. He caught 60 passes for 674 yards and scored four TDs through the air. In addition to ranking No. 2 in the MWC and No. 39 in the nation in receptions, he ranked No. 8 in the conference and No. 90 in the NCAA in average receiving yards (56.2 yards per game). Ford's 674 total receiving yards also ranked him No. 93 in the country. His best performances for the season came at Syracuse (12 catches for 110 yards), at Virginia (9 receptions for 63 yards), versus Utah (five catches for 92 yards and one TD), versus Boise State (four receptions for 72 yards) and at UNLV (four catches for 72 yards).

2005: As a sophomore in 2005, he caught 29 passes for 421 yards, ranking him second in both categories behind `05 senior Jovon Bouknight. Ford appeared in all 11 games for the Cowboys, starting five of those 11 contests. His 421 receiving yards ranked him 16th in the MWC as a sophomore. Ford's best game came against UNLV, catching six passes for 101 yards. He also had strong performances versus San Diego State (five catches for 54 yards), Air Force (three receptions for 52 yards), BYU (two catches for 52 yards) and Colorado State (three receptions for 50 yards). His long reception of the season was a 38-yarder against BYU. Ford entered his sophomore season as one of the top two "Z" receivers (slot receivers) for the Wyoming Cowboys, joining senior Josh Barge at that position. He came off a 2004 season that saw him play in all 12 games as a redshirt freshman, starting one game at Brigham Young.

2004: Ford showed great promise in his redshirt freshman season of 2004. He ranked No. 5 on the team in both receptions and receiving yards, catching 19 passes for 225 yards. His best game was at BYU, catching seven passes for 63 yards. He also caught three passes for 55 yards versus Air Force, and had three catches for 40 yards in his first Wyoming-Colorado State Border War game. Earned his first varsity letter.

2003: Redshirted.

High School: Ford was part of a very successful program at Mullen High School in Denver, Colo. He was named to The Denver Post All-Colorado team for all classifications, and was also named All Class 5A in Colorado as a tight end his senior season. He was an All-Centennial League selection both his junior and senior seasons. His senior season, he caught 26 passes for 478 yards. Ford helped Mullen post an 11-2 record in 2002 and advance to the quarterfinals of the 5A State Playoffs before losing to eventual state champion Columbine. He was coached in high school by Jay Madden. Ford was also recruited by Colorado State, San Diego State and Utah.
