KATHY CROWE-WAGNER - Soccer and Women's Basketball
Director of Strength and Conditioning
. . . started with the University of Wyoming in March 2004 after spending 2.5 years at The Ohio State University. Her responsibilities included designing and implementing strength, speed and conditioning programs for women's soccer, softball, women's tennis, men's gymnastics, men's and women's swimming and diving, and various other sports. Prior to that, she spent two years at UTEP first as a graduate assistant and then as the first assistant strength and conditioning coach. Crowe received her bachelor's degree in kinesiology, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, in 2000 and her master's degree in kinesiology from UTEP in 2001. At Angelo State, she was a three-time track (discus) All-American, 1998-2000, and was the Lone Star Conference Discus Champion in 2000. She also earned numerous academic awards, including GTE Academic All-America honors in 1999 and 2000 and the Presidential Academic Excellence Award in 2000. In addition to being a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS), Crowe is also certified at the United States Weightlifting Club Coach Level 1 (USAW), and by the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC). The former Kathy Crowe married Chris Wagner on July 14, 2007.


Brian Herzog - Football
Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, FB
...started with the University of Wyoming in May 2007. Brian is a native of New Orleans, LA. Prior to UW he spent two years working under the direction of Ruben Mendoza at the University of Notre Dame. While at Notre Dame he was responsible for working football with Mendoza where the Irish saw a return to prominence playing in back to back BCS bowls and finishing with a 19-6 won loss record. Also at Notre Dame he was responsible for working with men's and women's golf and the throwers for Track and Field. Previous to Notre Dame, he spent four years at the University of Mississippi working with football where the Rebels competed in two bowl games (Independence and Cotton). At Ole Miss he was also responsible for working with women's basketball, volleyball, track and field, and soccer. He is certified by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa).


Mike Cotterman - Swimming & Diving, Football Asst.
Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach
...started with University of Wyoming in December 2005. Prior to U.W. Mike was the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Drake University for five years. In his final year at Drake University, Mike directed the strength & conditioning programs for Football, Volleyball, Women's Soccer, and Track and Field. In 2002, the Drake S.A.A.C. recognized Mike with the Giant Steps Award as `Coach of the Year', which he went onto become a national finalist. While in Des Moines, Mike was active in the Iowa Strength & Conditioning Association presenting several times at the state clinic. Mike graduated with a Masters in Education in Developmental Kiniesiology from Bowling Green State University while performing a Graduate Assistantship in the Exercise Physiology and Strength & Conditioning Departments. He received his Bachelors in Sports Science from Ohio University. Mike has been a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the N.S.C.A. since 1996 and Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified through the C.S.C.C.a. since 2005.


Hunter Schurrer - Men's Basketball and Tennis
Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach
...started with UW in September of 2006. Prior to coming to Wyoming, Schurrer was a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Virginia for two years. While at UVa, Hunter directed the strength and conditioning programs for Men's and Women's Golf, as well as assisting with the other 23 teams. Hunter is originally from Spearfish, SD and graduated from Black Hills State University in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in Wellness Management. While at Black Hills State, Hunter participated in track and field where he was an All-American and National Champion in the Weight Throw in 2004. In 2005, Hunter was voted an All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year by the N.S.C.A. He recieved his master's degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Virginia in 2006. Schurrer is a ceritified strength and conditioning specialist (C.S.C.S.) through the N.S.C.A. and a Level 1 Club Coach through USA Weightlifting.


Rob Hartman - Wrestling, Track & Field, Football Asst.
Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach
...started with UW in August of 2007. Prior to Wyoming, Rob was a strength and conditioning coach for the University of Nebraska at Kearney for six years in various roles. While at UNK, Rob directed the strength and conditioning programs for Baseball, Track & Field, Cross Country, Tennis, Swimming & Diving, while also assisting with the other eight athletics teams. He also performed an internship at Auburn University, working primarily with Football and softball. Rob was born in Laramie, WY, and was raised in North Platte, NE. Rob attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where he was a two letter winner in Football and received both his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Exercise Science. Rob is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA, and a Level 1 Club Coach through USA Weightlifting.


Lee Yerty - Men's & Women's Golf, Volleyball
Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach
...started with the University of Wyoming in April 2008. Lee brings 22 years of experience as a strength coach and/or athletic administrator to Wyoming. Prior to Wyoming, Lee spent the last 11 years at the University of Memphis in a variety of roles most recently as the Director of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports. Lee received his bachelors degree from Washington State where his was a member of the Washington State football team (1983-1985). He stayed on at Washington State and worked as a strength coach while completing his master's degree in Athletic Administration. Lee is the husband of Head Volleyball Coach, Carrie. They have two sons, Wes and Jace with Carrie expected their third son in June.
